The majority of our students are Japanese, and they come from a wide range of age groups. We offer a variety of programs tailored to different needs, including short-term weekend programs, summer and winter camps, and long-term study abroad programs that last a year or more. As a host family, you have the flexibility to choose a program that best fits your lifestyle and availability. Whether you prefer hosting for just a few days or welcoming a student for an extended stay, there is an option for you. Students from Groups/Schools are interested in spending time in Canada with host families over one weekend as a part of their school trip. Staying with local families is a great opportunity to learn about Canadian customs, culture and experience different way of life. You might think it is such a short stay, but we believe that students make a lot of unforgettable memories and this experience may change the students life.
As a part of a School English Learning Program, students are coming to Canada, spending their time studying English at a language school/local schools/universities and participating in activities. Also, they stay with the host families to experience a Canadian lifestyle. We believe that combination of school activities and homestay experiences allow students to emerge more knowledgeable and understanding about life abroad, and more confident of their own abilities and achievements. They will have an experience that will be one of the most valuable in their lives and return home with memories that last.
We have individual students coming to study/work and experience the real Canadian life with a host family. Their age and length of stay vary as we offer variety of customized programs based on personal needs. Some go to a local high school, university, language school full time, and some would like to work and explore this beautiful country. At the end of the day, they look forward to coming back home where they spend lots of time with the host family and share moments.
The length of each program depends on the students or groups. VIEC provides seasonal program announcements 2–3 months in advance, allowing host families to select the programs that best align with their availability.
